Foolish Me

I have started with my new PH job three weeks ago but due to some reasons, I have signify my intent to resign during my first week.  Now, I was obliged to stay with the company for 30 days.

I’ve been telling my colleagues and friends not to imitate what I have done.  It was a tough decision yet I need to do it rather than keep on thinking about the other options that may align with the path that I wanted to take.

There are times in our lives when we make some foolish decisions.  Decisions that would question one’s identity and moral integrity.  At the end of the day, the only thing that will remain is yourself.  Whatever consequences that come as a result of your decision, you have the responsibility to carry-on and face the next music.

Fall In, Stay In, Fall Out

“Falling in love is never a decision, always a chance.  Staying in love is never a chance, always a choice.  And falling out of love is never a choice, always a decision.”

This message has been circulating in SMS during the V-day.  I wonder what is the difference between “choice” and “decision”.  It seems like they both give the same meaning to me.

I always believe that it is a cycle.  Either you “fall in”, “stay in” or “fall out”.  You just need to be in one of the stages one period at a time.  Else, you will definitely immerse in trouble.  Anyway, I have been there and done that.  Indeed, I am well aware of where I am at right now.

Beyond My Subconscious World

This is my second post here in my new home in cyberspace. I should have posted this first but since I was busy scouting for a template that will suit my preferences, I just managed to publish the “motorcycle diary” post as my first entry which I was supposed to publish in my old blog site.

Moving to a new blog is like moving to a new house or a new condo. Now, I can consider this new site as my own. I bought the domain so I could be legally qualified for the webby awards. Just kidding! Ha!ha!ha!

Let me welcome everyone in my new space. Make sure to leave your slippers at the door before you enter. My official URL is http://jongoloids.com. Wishing myself more relevant and inspiring blogs to come. See you around!

Btw, if you want to look back at my old blog and reminisce the past, visit http://jong.i.ph. You may also visit my photo albums at http://jongoloids.multiply.com.

Weekend Cycle Diaries

I have watched the 2004 film, The Motorcycle Diaries. This is one of those films that I have downloaded last year but never had the time to watch. Finally, I took the chance today. The last scene left some parting lines that caught my feel-good-craving-mind and made me replay the act twice.

That is Alberto saying, “This is not the tale of impressive deeds. Is a piece of two lives taken in a moment when they were cruising together along a given path. With identity of aspirations and a conjuction of dreams. Was our vision too narrow, too partial, too rushed? Were our conclusions too rigid? Maybe… but that aimless roaming through our enormous America has changed me more than I thought. I… am not myself anymore. At least, I’m not the same inside.”

Here is the film’s synopsis:

“In 1952, two young Argentines, Ernesto Guevara and Alberto Granado, set out on a road trip to discover the real Latin America. Ernesto is a 23-year-old medical student specializing in leprology, and Alberto, 29, is a biochemist. The film follows the young men as they unveil the rich and complex human and social topography of the Latin American continent.

With a highly romantic sense of adventure, the two friends leave their familiar surroundings in Buenos Aires on a rickety 1939 Norton 500. Although the bike breaks down during the course of their eight-month journey, they press onward, hitching rides along the way. As they begin to see a different Latin America in the people they meet on the road, the diverse geography they encounter begins to reflect their own shifting perspectives.

They continue to the heights of Machu Picchu, where the majestic ruins and the extraordinary significance of the Inca heritage have a profound impact on the young men. As they arrive at a leper colony deep in the Peruvian Amazon, the two are beginning to question the value of progress as defined by economic systems that leave so many people beyond their reach. Their experiences at the colony awaken within them the men they will later become by defining the ethical and political journey they will take in their lives.”
